En français svp!

My first camping trip of the year was at Awenda Provincial Park located near Georgian Bay. Obviously it was a very pleasant stay, how could it be otherwise when there are friends, nature, food and fun? However, I do keep hard feelings against the raccoon thief who stole my Doritos Nacho Cheese bag. It was not even open and he preferred it to the banana right next to it. The sound of the bag being heard in the distance at midnight, imagine that! I believe it was not his first Doritos bag and he knew exactly what he wanted, but let’s move one…

We did have plenty of other food! The idea of bringing corns for our first meal was brilliant! The idea of making popcorn on the fire, not so much, it all burnt out the cauldron which went straight to the garbage.

We ate it all to make sure we wouldn’t leave treats to the raccoon thief. With lemon-pepper spices, which are always a must, it was not too much to ask.

For the sake of burning some calories before the evening meal exploring the nature surrounding us we went for an afternoon walk. It is a small park but certainly very pretty.

A detour to the beach was in order.

For the evening meal, nothing better than good hot dogs on the fire. It’s all in the quality of the sausage, if quality there is.

For dessert, s’mores and bananas filled with chocolate. Yum yum yum, what a delight! For those of you interested, see the complete stuffed banana recipe here.

The evening ended with a few drinks, a little game of poker and of course around the good old campfire.
