I took this picture while exploring the Krafla volcano in North Iceland. There is a geothermal activity area on the way to the top of the mountain (not to be confused with Námafjall which will be the subject of another post). This area is called Leirhnjúkur and it has a blue-colored hot spring surrounded by colorful sulphur deposit.
