I took this picture of the sunset on a December flight from Toronto to Quebec City. I have a fascination for skies and I rarely fly without taking a few photos out of the plane window.
Here are some very basic tips if you’re interested in taking pictures out of the plane window:
- Booking a window seat is always a good start.
- Don’t use your flash. Yep that’s right, if you didn’t notice glass is reflective.
- Don’t use a polarizer filter or you’ll get rainbow-like patterns caused by the material used to make plane windows.
- Get your lens as close as possible to the window without touching it. Vibration from the plane will make your photographs blurry if you put your camera against the glass.
